About Leadership Washington County

Leadership Washington County is a non-profit organization that was
formed in 1998 as a cooperative effort between the United Way of
Washington County and the Washington County Chamber of Commerce.

Leadership Washington County has grown from the vision of a few individuals
into a major part of the revitalization of our community.  Our success has
permeated the framework of the non-profit community and has influenced a
new generation of volunteers to take up the causes of those in need.

We have graduated 129 leaders to this point and will be at 151 after the
current class graduates. We have had 10 Classes, with average class size of
about 15 students.  This year's class, an impressive 18 members strong, will
graduate in May.  We hope to improve on those numbers in the coming years.

    Mission Statement
Leadership Washington County is dedicated to becoming the premier
organization in the development of community leaders in Washington County.
We will consistently ensure that a diverse group of program participants gain
an in-depth understanding of the broad spectrum of issues affecting
Washington County.  In doing this, we hope to foster leadership, commitment
and active participation in community affairs by encouraging participants to
assume leadership roles in the community.
